Can't see where you're going
at night?
Does your car look ugly with
those yellowed hazy headlamps?
Have you tried to buff them
yourself and gotten poor results?
Faded, yellowed
headlamp lenses have become a big problem with modern cars
and trucks. Most newer cars have them and sooner or later
they haze over. This happens as the plastic is exposed to
bright sunlight over a prolonged period. Here in the
Bay Area, deterioration starts after just a couple of years.
If left unchecked, your light output can be literally cut
in half!
Unfortunately,
you can't just replace the lens cover. But the lenses can
be restored to new condition. We have the skills and materials
to bring your faded cloudy lenses back to their original
clarity.
There are
products you can buy at the auto parts store that claim
they'll make your lamps look like new. But in my opinion
they simply don't work very well unless the damage is very
mild.
Also be
aware that there are many amateurs out there that will "buff"
your headlamps out for a small amount of cash. They'll
look good for a few days but they'll quickly haze over again.
Once the original protective coating that covered the plastic
is removed by buffing and sanding a new coating MUST be
applied. There are a number of wipe-on, smear on, even spray
on out of a can solutions. All of which produce poor to
mediocre results.
